A special message from our community of teachers, parents, and students - past and present.
(and possibly a puppet!)
Hello from the teachers,
of Friends Nursery School.
We hope you’re all keeping safe and healthy
during this time of uncertainty
for so many people, businesses and organizations,
including our school.
Friends Nursery School has been part of the Palo Alto community since 1954.
And over the years,
countless children have benefitted
from our devoted teaching staff,
our creative, play-based approach to learning,
and the warm and nurturing environment we have created here at the school.
It’s a fun,
Our teachers are currently working hard to support parents and children through the strange times that the entire world is experiencing right now.
But we need your help.
COVID-19 has put a strain on our resources, requiring us to take steps to ensure the financial future of Friends Nursery School.
Shelter-in-place has meant we are unable to conduct our annual fundraising event, Fiesta, an event that is crucial to the school’s stable financial position.
Nearly 90% of our revenue is directly attributable to the teachers’ payroll. While we have made the decision to continue to pay our teachers so that they can support themselves and their families during this uncertain time, our ability to continue to do so will depend on further funding.
So, Friends needs the help of all our friends:
Our local community.
People who’ve learned with us,
past and present.
We know this is a difficult time.
It’s difficult for us to ask.
But any donation.
Big or small.
Whatever you can afford.
Would be hugely appreciated.
And will help ensure that our school,
that has been a special part of the community for 66 years,
can carry on doing what we love doing.
