FAQ

Selecting a preschool is an important decision, and we want to help you find the best school for your child. Below are answers to some Frequently Asked Questions we hear from parents. If your question isn't answered below, then please contact us!

How old does my child need to be to enroll in your school?

We serve children who are 3 through 5 years of age. To attend for the 2023-2024 school year your child would need to turn 3 years of age by November 1st, 2023. APPLY TODAY for School Year 2023-24 using this link.

Do you offer scholarships?

Yes, we do offer scholarships! Every school year we put forth fundraising efforts to support our scholarship fund. Scholarships are awarded on a case-by-case basis, depending on the needs of families and the amount of scholarship funds we have for each school year. Do you have an afternoon program, and can my child join if they attend another program in the mornings?

Yes, we do! From 12 - 3 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. You are welcome to enroll in Friends while attending other programs, too.

How long do children play outside?

As long as possible! We set up a rich environment outside and weather permitting, try to use the outdoor classroom as much as possible.

Why should I choose a play-based preschool?

Research shows that children learn best through play. We believe learning initiated by the child is much more impactful and brain-building than rote memorization or sitting down to complete worksheets.

Do they follow a schedule?

Yes, even though we offer plenty of opportunities for free choice play throughout the day, we do follow a routine with an age-appropriate amount of transitions each day, so the children get the experience of moving through a schedule with their peers and teachers each day.

How do children get ready for kindergarten in a play-based program?

We offer a rich and engaging environment on a daily basis that offers opportunities to support each area of development in your child; emotional, social, cognitive, and physical. Along with this rich environment, we have fully qualified early childhood educators there to support and guide your child's development on a daily basis.
