Participation
The active participation of parents creates a unique community that benefits families,
children and teachers.
Our modified co-op model helps us keep our costs lower than many other comparable preschools in
Palo Alto.
We do recognize, however, that the demands of working parents in this local area make frequent or regular commitment a challenge, so we have a range of flexible participation opportunities available.

Parent Participation Requirements
Two workdays

Each family participates in two work days per year
(one August-December; one January-May).
A buyout is available for one of those days for $150 -
You’ll be able to pick your dates in advance,
at the start of the school year
School support hours

Each family is to provide six school support hours per year

A maximum of three school support hour buyouts are available for $100 each

A minimum of three school support hours will be Fiesta-related*

Other school support opportunities will take place throughout the school year

Advanced signup for many school support hours will be available at the beginning of the school year
Fiesta*

Donate one item to our annual fundraiser, Fiesta

You can choose between a silent auction item, a farmers' market item, or a $50 buyout
* Community activities are dependent on current Covid guidelines
Morning program parents

All morning program parents commit to working in the classroom approximately six times per year.
* Parent participation in the classroom is dependent on current Covid guidelines
Board & committee roles

We encourage parents to volunteer to serve on the board, or to take on a committee role. Some roles can apply toward workday and/or school support hours. Talk to us to find out more!
