The active participation of parents creates a unique community that benefits families,
children and teachers.
Our modified co-op model helps us keep our costs lower than many other comparable preschools in
We do recognize, however, that the demands of working parents in this local area make frequent or regular commitment a challenge, so we have a range of flexible participation opportunities available.
See below for details of our requirements.
Parent Participation Requirements
Each family participates in two work days per year
(one August-December; one January-May).
A buyout is available for one of those days for $150
You’ll be able to pick your dates in advance,
at the start of the school year
School support hours
Each family is to provide six school support hours per year
A maximum of three school support hour buyouts are available for $100 each
A minimum of three school support hours will be Fiesta-related
Other school support opportunities will take place throughout the school year
Advanced signup for many school support hours will be available at the beginning of the school year
Donate one item to our annual fundraiser, Fiesta
You can choose between a silent auction item, a farmers' market item, or a $50 buyout
Morning program parents
The below applies to morning program parents only. Our afternoon programs have no parent participation requirement
If you’re interested, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved as a Participating Parent, working in the classroom once a week or once every two weeks. You’ll receive a tuition credit depending on shift frequency, and subject to availability of open PP positions
All other morning program parents commit to being available for substitute shifts throughout the year, covering for Participating Parents in the event they are unable to participate as planned. These on-call shifts are known in advance, on dates that parents can sign up for at the beginning of the school year
Board & committee roles
We encourage parents to volunteer to serve on the board, or to take on a committee role. These roles are optional but some roles - depending on responsibilities - do provide tuition credits, workday credit, and/or school support credits. Talk to us to find out more
